All fees are payable when registering
Refunds
Prior to the start of the season, August 31, there will be a $25.00 service fee applied to any refund request. No refunds will be issued after August 31, 2024, for any reason, even if a child is injured.
All divisions (6U through 18U) will receive the following items:
Baseball cap
Uniform Jersey
(Uniform Pants are NOT provided, gray pants required)
All age groups will be in the Anne Arundel Baseball COOP league. This is not a county sponsored league. The County does not offer baseball. All teams will have some travel. Games are played on Sunday afternoon, on occasion when a field is not available a game might be played on a Saturday. Games are only played in September and October.
There will be 4 home games and 4 away games.
Volunteers
Severn Athletic Club, as with any all-volunteer organization, depends on volunteers. Unfortunately, we have not had the cooperation that we rely on to keep registration fees as low as possible and in maintaining the fields as some of the best in the county. Please know that we do NOT receive any help from the county, the maintenance of the playing fields is solely on our volunteers in keeping the fields playable. Too often our coaches are left to maintain the fields along with the time commitment they already have coaching/training the players on their team, your children.
Concession Stand
Spring Season each team will be scheduled to run the Concession Stand. We will be sharing the Concession Stand duties along with Softball. Great opportunity for students over 16 to get volunteer hours.
Fall Season We may ask for your help in working (if you can call having fun work!!!)
2025 Severn Baseball Spring Break Tournament - TBD
We run a Travel Baseball Tournament every Spring to raise money for our Recreation Baseball Program. We use this fundraiser to help keep fees as low as possible as well as purchasing ball mix for the infields. We will be setting up a separate registration for volunteers. The help we need is dragging the fields and lining the fields between each game, taking care of the garbage, working the concession stand, cleaning, stocking the bathrooms as needed. We will show you how it's done! We will be asking for volunteers at the beginning of the season.
WHEN REGISTERING YOUR CHILD PLEASE CONSIDER COACHING
(Register below to be a Head Coach, Assistant Coach or Volunteer)

Upcoming Events for 2024
Fall registration coming soon
We are in the Anne Arundel Co-Op league, https://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp?url=aabaseballcoop
that consists of other leagues within the County, so some travel is necessary.
Volunteer Positions –
Coaches/Assistant Coaches – are needed at all Divisions…we constantly have to tell players that we do not have room for them due to lack of Coaches. We know it is a major commitment, but it is so rewarding to see the players improve and grow. If you really want to feel rewarded wait until these players come up to you as young adults and tell you that you coached them and they had a great time playing baseball, tell you how and what they are doing in High School or College and then they Thank you.
Field Maintenance - Needed to mow the Baseball fields, groom the infields, line fields when available for games and pick up trash.
Concessions Stand Committee – Help manage, in conjunction with Softball, our concession stand. We have in the past assigned teams a day during the season to staff the stand, which we will probably continue. This is an important need as it provides a needed function (feeding hungry kids and parents!) while also providing additional funds to purchase equipment and/or goes to field maintenance.
Thank you for choosing Severn Athletic Club Baseball

TO VOLUNTEER:
...in the best of times we always need more volunteers than we get...we have been relying on too few volunteers to keep baseball running...we still have to take care of the fields...the county does NOT take care of the fields...nor do they empty the trash cans....they don't clean the bathrooms either....they don't run the concession stand...they don't do any of the administrative work...outside of the fact that we play in a County Park, EVERYTHING is done by VOLUNTEERS.
In order to be a coach/assistant coach/team parent or have any "any personal involvement with children" you must have a passing background check thru AACO Rec. and Parks.
Currently background checks by the AACPS are not accepted.
COUNTY POLICY "As a prerequisite for any personal involvement with children, all adults who have care, custody or control of youth participants in any program or activity are required to successfully complete a criminal history records check as described in the Background Check process in this manual. "
Further information go to:
https://www.aacounty.org/services-and-programs/volunteer-background-check
Coaching - a criminal background check is required for anyone who interacts with children. Click on the following link to go to Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks webpage for more info:
https://www.aacounty.org/services-and-programs/volunteer-background-check
You must also have a coaches certification from the county:
https://www.aacounty.org/services-and-programs/coaches-certification
Other On-line Training for Coaches - go to: https://www.usabaseball.com/ or
https://usabdevelops.com/USAB/Certification/Coach_Certification/USAB/Certification/Coach_Certification.aspx?hkey=9b5b27e7-bb58-4b30-80e7-20d8ea4a657f
This is an excellent resource whether you never played Baseball, new to Coaching or have Coached for years. It teaches you about the game, each position, how to run practices and practice plans. Although it shows an invoice when registering for a course it is totally free. When signing up use verbatim: Severn Athletic Club Baseball as the organization
Team Parent(s) - because there is interaction with children you must have a criminal background check also; go to: https://www.aacounty.org/services-and-programs/volunteer-background-check
CONCESSION STAND - We will need people to run the concession stand this year. More info to come
